TWB Signage — Privacy Policy

1. About this app

TWB Signage is a digital signage player application for use on Google TV / Android TV / Amazon Fire TV devices. It is operated by Third Wave BBQ Pty Ltd ("we", "us") and is intended for authorised TWB venues only. The app pairs to the TWB content management system at signage.thirdwavebbq.com.au using a one-time pairing code and then plays content assigned by the venue operator.

2. Information we collect

The app collects only the technical information needed to operate as a paired display device:

• Device information — manufacturer, model, OS version, and a non-resettable hardware fingerprint generated by Android. Used at pairing time to identify the device.
• Device authentication token — a long-lived token issued after successful pairing. Stored locally on the device and sent with API requests so the server can identify the screen.
• Heartbeat telemetry — every ~30 seconds the app reports its online/offline status, current playback state, available storage, free memory, network type, and app version.
• Playback telemetry — start, completion, and failure events for each media item, sent in batches.
• Network address — your venue's public IP is recorded by our servers when the device connects, for security logging.

The app does not collect: personal identifiers (name, email, phone, address), location, photos, contacts, calendar, microphone audio, camera images, browsing history, or any advertising identifier.

3. How we use the information

The information above is used exclusively to:

• Authenticate the device and deliver the correct content to the correct venue
• Provide operators with a live status view of their fleet of screens (online/offline, last seen, current channel)
• Diagnose playback errors and improve reliability
• Maintain security audit logs for the operator console

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data. We do not use any data for advertising or targeting.

4. Where data is stored

Telemetry and device records are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (in the United States). Media files are stored on Cloudflare R2 (global). Both providers are contractually bound to industry-standard security controls. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS / TLS 1.2+.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data with the following service providers strictly as needed to operate the app:

• Neon — managed database hosting
• Cloudflare — content delivery and DNS
• DigitalOcean — application server hosting

We do not share any data with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics platforms.

6. Data retention

Telemetry and audit logs are retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted. Device records persist for the lifetime of the pairing; on un-pairing (operator decommissions the screen) the device token is invalidated and the record is marked as removed within 30 days.

7. Children

This app is not directed to children. It is a business tool installed by venue operators on commercial display devices.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and (where applicable) the EU GDPR you may request:

• A copy of any data we hold associated with a specific device
• Correction or deletion of that data
• Termination of the pairing and removal of the device from our systems

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where reasonably possible, notify operators via the operator console.
